French artistic duo confirmed as keynote speakers for Spark 2027
French artist duo Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse will explore what happens when technology becomes a medium for artistic expression at Spark 2027, which is part of ISE 2027. Taking place on 3 - 4 February in Hall 8 at Fira de Barcelona, Montjuïc, Spark provides a platform for the people, ideas and technologies shaping content production in the creative industries.

Under the theme The Art of And, Spark examines how creative disciplines, technologies and production approaches come together to shape new forms of content and audience experiences. Lemercier and Bibasse embody this idea through their work, which
combines light, projection and digital technology to transform spaces and challenge perceptions.

Their keynote follows Casa Batlló’s annual mapping, an artistic initiative commissioned by Casa Batlló Contemporary, which will take place on 30 and 31 January 2027. Created
by Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse in collaboration with Catalan singer and composer Maria Arnal, who will co-create the musical composition and participate in the vocal creation and live performance, the work will draw on light, large-scale projection
and an original musical composition to offer a new interpretation of Gaudí’s architectural masterpiece.

Based in Brussels, Lemercier and Bibasse have collaborated for more than fifteen years. Their practice explores how light, geometry and technology can transform spaces
and reveal new ways of perceiving the natural world. Lemercier is a pioneer of architectural video mapping and co-founded the AntiVJ collective in 2006, helping establish projection as an artistic medium. Inspired by the forms and patterns of nature,
his work explores the relationship between light, technology and perception. Bibasse brings complementary expertise in artistic direction and curatorial practice, connecting artists, ideas and audiences through ambitious interdisciplinary projects.

The Casa Batlló mapping is part of the building’s
annual free public art event, now in its sixth edition. The initiative invites artists to create original works inspired by Gaudí’s architectural vision. Previous editions have featured artists including Refik Anadol, Sofia Crespo, Quayola and United Visual Artists.
Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is a principal sponsor of the Casa Batlló mapping.

The keynote by Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse is scheduled for 3 February 2027.

The Spark content programme is built around two stages. Spark Arena
hosts keynotes and in-depth conversations with leading thinkers and practitioners exploring developments in creativity, content and technology. Spark Forum offers a free-to-attend programme focused on practical insights, emerging tools and new approaches from across the creative and technology communities.
