Lumotion Studio enhances XD theatre system for Saudi Ministry of Tourism
Lumotion Studio has enhanced an XD Theatre system for Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism, bringing storytelling and ‘edutainment’ content for museum visitors.

Lumotion was brought on board to implement the content, working closely with the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia. The company took the lead from script development to final rendering, making
adjustments for the content and technology integration.

Speaking exclusively to Inavate, Anton Tertyshnyk, founder, Lumotion Studio, said: “The project focuses on using the XD Theatre product as a solution to bring edutainment and
storytelling content into interesting and emotional experiences for museum visitors. We have created many immersive experiences for projects by the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, and because of this, they chose
our team to create content for the museum’s XD Theatre without a tender.

“We used an immersive cinema system combining large-scale visual content with motion simulation technology. The seats move in sync
with the on-screen action, creating an experience that engages visitors through both visuals and physical sensations. This technology helps bring historical environments and events to life, allowing visitors to feel part of the
story rather than simply watch it.”

For this experience to work, Lumotion was tasked with integrating content and AV technology seamlessly into one package, requiring close coordination between creative and technical teams
from the early stages. Lumotion used a combination of Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Adobe After Effects, while the motion simulation platform was integrated by DOF Robotics.

“It was very important to create
camera movements with an understanding of how the platform can interact with them”, says Tertyshnyk, “We are proud to use technology to create a stronger emotional connection between visitors and the stories they
experience. We believe the future of museums lies in using small immersive cinemas or VR attractions that show storytelling content and help people understand the story more deeply and in a fun way.”
