As live sports, events and news increasingly move to IP-based contribution, streaming providers and broadcasters need to move pristine video across networks for monitoring, production and playout.
Magewell's highly-acclaimed Pro Convert product family bridges traditional and IP-based media workflows by seamlessly converting between AV signals and IP sources (including NDI® High Bandwidth, NDI® HX2, NDI® HX3, and H.264 or H.265 delivered via SRT, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, MPEG-TS, and more). In addition to the wide range of formats that are already supported, Magewell's expanded integration with Zixi now enables users
to pull Zixi streams directly into their workflows. Pro Convert IP decoders take incoming Zixi streams and convert them back to SDI or HDMI for output, all manageable from ZEN Master.
The Pro Convert IP to HDMI is a small, standalone decoder that converts up to four IP streams into a single HDR 10-compatible, QHD (2560×1440) HDMI output. Using the integrated multiviewer,
decoded input streams can be displayed in preset single, dual, or quad layouts. The device can decode one input stream up to 2560×1440 at 60 frames per second in single-view mode, or up to four 1080p60 streams in multi-view mode. Video preview is provided via real-time stream or MJPEG thumbnails in the new web GUI.
The Pro Convert IP to HDMI 4K and
Pro Convert IP to AIO 4K devices include all of the rich features of the HD model, and builds on it with 4K decoding at 60FPS and output HDMI 2.0 and/or 12G-SDI with support for HDR10 and HLG.
The three standalone decoders seamlessly integrates into production or monitoring workflows to provide easy, multi-source conversion for many monitoring scenarios including security/surveillance, command and
control, broadcast, and a variety of other applications. They can be powered via PoE/PoE+ or USB. An additional USB port is reserved for peripherals like keyboard or mouse. A new rotary control dial provides easy menu navigation, while an improved user interface allows easy access to setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
For rack deployment, modular versions for Magewell Modator 2U are also
provided to bring decoded IP sources to centralized rack deployments, enabling a higher-density installation for greater space efficiency. When used with the enhanced Control Hub management software interface, introduced earlier this year, a new preview function allows easy video monitoring in the web UI and via Control Hub.
