Prince Charming Bar & Kitchen is now equipped with a Powersoft Mezzo 602 AD amplifier and WM touch panel for background music and live performance.
Van Brienen Audiovisueel was brought on board for the installation, creating a compact two-zone system at this iconic Amsterdam venue.
With capacity for approximately 60 guests, Prince Charming has a programme
that regularly features live performers including singers, DJs, pianists, and MCs.
Sound quality was at the centre of this installation, with the building’s high ceilings presenting an immediate acoustic hurdle to
be overcome.
Van Brienen Audiovisueel came onto the project during the renovation planning phase, giving the integrator an opportunity to understand exactly what the system needed to do and to plan cable
routes properly while the walls and ceilings were still open.
The installed system is built around a single Powersoft Mezzo 602 AD two-channel amplifier, delivering 600 watts in total. Two zones are
configured within the restaurant, one in the front of the space and another in the back. A network of ceiling and wall-mounted loudspeakers distribute sound evenly across both areas, ensuring consistent
coverage at every table, while a single active floor-standing unit provides bass reinforcement.
The system handles two distinct audio sources, including a PC for continuous background playback, while the other is a
live input fed from an external mixer. This allows performers to connect directly via whatever setup the event requires.
Day-to-day control is managed through a Powersoft WM Touch wall panel, installed in
white to complement the restaurant interior. The PoE-powered device connects to the Mezzo 602 AD over standard Ethernet and gives staff a 4.3-in touchscreen from which they can select zones, switch
between sources, and adjust volume easily.
Cable routes were laid before the ceilings and walls were finished, allowing for an unobtrusive result. The system was installed within hours and required no return visits.
