project: syntropy debuts new Pilatus flight training visual systems powered by Norxe
Norxe P60 projectors have been deployed in two immersive visual display systems developed by project: syntropy for Pilatus Aircraft’s PC-7 MKX Flight Training Devices in Stans, Switzerland.

Each system combines a 4m SYNJETSIM fibreglass dome with a five-channel 4K projection setup, producing a 220-degree horizontal field of view and a vertical field extending from -42.5 degrees to +90 degrees.

The visual systems use Norxe P60 4K n-shift projectors alongside Aechelon image-generation technology, with the complete display solution designed and integrated by project: syntropy.

The P60 is designed for simulation and visualisation
applications and supports imagery up to 8K at 240Hz. Its NXL solid-state illumination platform is rated for more than 60,000 hours of operation.

For the Pilatus systems, each projector is paired with Norxe’s
N1 Extra Wide Zoom lens, providing a 0.80–1.25:1 throw ratio at 4K UHD resolution.

The lens incorporates an all-glass optical design, Scheimpflug adjustment and Norxe’s Lens Lock system, intended to maintain optical
alignment once commissioning is complete.

project: syntropy also incorporated automatic calibration and optical blend masks to create a continuous image across the dome and maintain consistency between the five projection channels.

Henning Kirchner,
business development director DACH/Benelux at Norxe, said: “We are extremely proud to be working with project: syntropy on such a high-profile installation for Pilatus.

“Simulation environments like this place huge demands on
the visual system, where image quality, speed and consistency across every channel are critical. With features such as CLO for stable brightness and colour performance over time, high resolution, low latency, the P60
is an ideal solution for demanding flight simulation applications. It is fantastic to see the technology being used as part of these new PC-7 MKX training systems.”

Christoph Bode, CTO and owner
of project: syntropy, said: “Pilatus Team is a highly technically skilled group, we are proud that Pilatus have chosen to rely on us for the visual system in their training device for PC-7 MKX.”
