Samsung Electronics expects memory chip shortages to last for 18 months, executive vice president Jaejune Kim said shortages in 2027 could be worse than this year and will continue into 2028.
To mitigate this, Kim said
Samsung has signed five-year supply
agreements with the world’s five largest
data centre operators, covering 60%
to 70% of its capacity.
Kim
declined to name them, but
said the contracts would run for
at least five years, and
would include upfront payments and floor pricing.
