Electro-Voice launches MFX multi-function monitors at InfoComm 2019

Electro-Voice unveiled its MFX multi-function monitor series, comprised of the MFX-12MC and MFX-15MC loudspeaker models for stage monitoring and short-throw main applications.

The MFX multi-function monitor series is comprised of the 12-in MFX-12MC and the 15-in MFX-15MC two-way coaxial loudspeakers, featuring a passive/bi-amp two-way coaxial design and engineered to complement X-Line Advance line-array loudspeaker systems.

The MFX series utilises coaxially aligned HF and LF transducers matched with Electro-Voice’s constant-directivity waveguide and a new crossover design, with 40 degrees H x 60 degrees V coverage in monitor orientation.

The dimensions and location of the waveguide interact with the woofer to create a bipole output.

A new cabinet concept with dual monitor angles is included, (35 degrees and 55 degrees), allowing the output to be focused towards a performer.

The monitors are optimised for use with TGX10 or IPX10:4 amplifiers from Dynacord, with both models able to be deployed in passive or bi-amp configuration, able to be optimised for different uses via DSP settings in the amps.

Power handling for the MFX-12MC is 450 W (continuous) and 3000 W (peak), with the MFX-15MC delivers 500 W (continuous) and 3500 W (peak). Each model has a maximum SPL rating of 135 dB and 136 dB respectively.

Both the MFX-12MC and MFX-15MC feature an integrated pole cup located in one of the two side handle recesses, allowing the monitors to serve as short-throw main/full-range sound reinforcement for portable applications using tripods or subwoofer poles, with coverage in this orientation being 60 degrees H x 40 degrees V.

Each model features four M10 suspension points, with U brackets, yokes a tilt adapter, truss clamps, stand-mount adapters and a rigging bar available for temporary or permanent installations.

A black or white finish is available with a 1.5mm thick corrosion-resistant grille.
