HabitechPro boasts HDBaseT Lite with WyreStorm switches

HabitechPro will distribute three WyreStorm matrix swithces in a move that sees HDBaseT Lite hit the UK market.

The HD content distribution technology allows installers to handle ‘five play’ convergence – video, audio, internet, control and power – over single Cat6 cable runs. It can distribute 1080p uncompressed HD signals for up to 70metres without the use of extenders.

HDBaseTLite is a development of the HDBaseT (HDBT) standard and is designed to handle mid-market installations with 4x4 or 8x8 matrices and does not include the ability to carry out Ethernet distribution.

The products introduced to the UK include three WyreStorm matrix switches, all with serial and IR control ports, providing simultaneous HDMI and UTP outputs, which have capacities ranging from 4x4 (4x HDMI inputs, four UTP outputs and four HDMI outputs) to 6x6 and 8x8.

Optional in-line scalers are available so that the system can be used to carry "legacy" AV formats such as VGA and composite/component video, and other accessory products include UTP receivers and point-to-point extension kits.

Features of the system, which was developed by WyreStorm, include central RS232 control, with integration protocols available so that the HDBaseTLite products can be managed by AMX, Control4 and Crestron; two-way IR control; and 3D compatibility with Blu-Ray and satellite transmission.

The HDBaseT Lite products can handle 2k resolution and work at a bandwidth of 6.75Gbps.
