JBL has introduced FIR tunings for Select Control Contractor series loudspeakers, offering FIR filters to optimise frequency and phase response.
The FIR filters are designed to offer a finer degree of precision through improved frequency response and phase response that is typically available with standard IIR ‘parameter-based’ filters and to meet JBL Pro’s V6 FIR tuning standard.
The features include equalisation to a neutral frequency response, with improved linearised phase response above 300 Hz. Users can start with a known flat voicing for further EQ’ing to the needs of the install, harnessing improved signal coherence and matched gain to enable system tuning and subwoofer integration.
The tunings are available for the COL600 and COL800 models, as well as the SLP12/T, SLP14/T, GSF6/GSF8 and the Control 68HP PRODUCTS.
The tunings can also be used with Crown DCI-N and DCI-DA power amplifiers, with additional tuning files to be released for Crown CDI DriveCore amplifiers in the future.
