Magewell to debut 4K decoder at NAB 2020

Magewell will highlight its 4K decoder at ISE 2020, the Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K with support for Newtek’s NDI technology and the SRT protocol, streaming up to 4Kp60 for baseband output over HDMI.

A second model, the Pro Convert H.26x to HDMI 4K was also launched, incorporating the same features as the Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K for users who do not require NDI support.

Both models are equipped with support for additional streaming protocols including RTSP, RTMP, UDP, RTP and HTTP streaming.

Both low-latency converters decode input streams up to 4196x2160 at full 60 fps for output to baseband monitors, projectors, production or distribution equipment via an HDMI 2.0 interface.

The Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K and Pro Convert H.26x to HDMI 4K to automatically optimise output parameters based on EDID metadata of the connected HDMI display, with FPGA-based video processing allowing for up/down conversion between HD and 4K.

The decoders can be powered via an external adaptor or POE, with users able to manage advanced features of the devices via on-unit controls, a browser-based interfaced or connected keyboard or mouse.
