AV integrator AVMI has appointed Mike Brown and Ieuan Hutchinson to its veteran resettlement programme, with Brown being responsible for assisting engineers and Hutchinson being responsible for assisting rack build engineers.
Brown, a former Royal Navy serviceman who served for seven years in the Fleet Air Arm for seven years as an air engineer technician and search and rescue winchman, with Brown now being responsible for assisting engineers in their day to day activities to learn and develop new skills, planning to become a CTS qualified engineer within the operations team.
Brown discovering the AV engineering role within AVMI’s veterans programme at a career transition workshop, with Brown being mentored by three qualified veterans each day, allowing him to complete his training within 12 months.
Hutchison, a former British Army rifleman from 5 rifles joins AVMI where he will be assisting rack build engineers in their day to day activities, also aiming to become a CTS qualified engineer with the operations team.

Hutchison found resettlement difficult after leaving the army, as job opportunities were limited in his area. After moving to Harrogate, Hutchison heard about the AVMI’s veteran programme via an email from the Career Transition Partnership and applied for the position.
