In a world first deployment, Barco’s laser projectors were installed, claimed to be the largest installation of laser projectors ever mounted in the southern hemisphere.
The array of more than 150 laser projectors were deployed throughout the festival by TDC, using 30 UDM-4K30 systems from Barco, with the entire projection system creating more than 3.5 million lumens of projected light are produced each evening.
TDC’s fleet of projectors were installed across multiple sites, including HMAS Vampire, Customs House, ASN Clocktower and the Sydney Opera House displaying artworks themed around Vivid Sydney.
The Barco projectors were selected for high brightness, low latency processing and a robust design, meeting requirements for colour uniformity, reduced power consumption and return on investment.
