Barix has confirmed the opening of a new research and development centre for new audio technologies, focusing on ‘what’s next’ for the company with an emphasis on audio analytics, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance and environmental sound monitoring.
The innovation centre opens in Aveiro, Portugal, in close proximity to
the University of Aveiro, a leading European technical institution.
Barix has been
hiring local engineering staff, including recent university graduates to fill its engineering
and research roles and is also strategically located close to Barix’s production
partners, HFA SA, allowing for faster construction of custom systems at the
new facility.
Barix’s Zurich headquarters business will remain, retaining its local engineering
talent as well as sales, marketing and product management staff.
Barix
will show its new prototypes from the Barix Innovation Centre at the
upcoming NAB show, at InfoComm 2020 and ISC West for security professionals.
