Casio sponsored research highlights education AV problems
Casio projectors has completed research which asked 100 teachers about the uses of AV technology in the classroom. The survey revealed some startling findings.

60% of teachers said that they face problems with unreliable AV equipment, whilst
37% lack the training to use it. A further 37% haven’t seen an upgrade
to their classroom’s equipment within the last three years.

Also worrying was the fact
that 42% of the teachers said that they didn't receive adequate technical support to
operate the equipment.

On the plus side, 60% agreed that technology drove greater
classroom participation amongst students. Although, that's not as high as would perhaps be expected.

The study was undertaken on behalf of Casio by Vanson Bourne, and spoke to
100 teachers in primary and secondary schools in the UK. It coincides with the
launch of Casio's Bright Minds competition in October which asks young people to submit their best enterprise idea.
