100,000 people were present to see a new Guiness world record in the Nan’an district of Chongqing, China. The new record, now at 11,787, is for the largest aerial image ever created using drones.
The light show was organised to celebrate Chongqing’s
28th year as a municipality, broke the record for
most drones simultaneously from a single computer.
The performance feayured
seven chapters, all highlighting Chongqing’s landscapes, culture, daily life,
and urban scenes.
Chongqing posed a number of challenges
for the record attempt. The team had to overcome
difficult terrain, cellular coverage and complex altitude transitions. The team
conducted several rounds of tests and rehearsals during the
preparation phase.
