An Extron NAV AV-over-IP system was deployed to support active and hybrid learning at the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s (UNCW) newest and largest academic building.
The Integrated Educational Technology team at the US university decided AV over IP
was required to enable it to deliver flexible education spaces within Veterans Hall.
Extron’s
NAV system spans 6 floors with 205 endpoints tied back to a single
Navigator. UNCW programmed the system using Extron ControlScript.
Richard Blaylock, AV systems engineer, Integrated
Education Technologies, UNCW, said: "Without the flexibility of Extron ControlScript, the Veterans Hall AV
systems would simply have not operated with the ease and versatility UNCW needed."
UNCW
has already used ControlScript in other projects, including upgrading existing distance education control
rooms, a refit of a three-way divisible ballroom, the audio control system for the
main basketball coliseum, a film studies post-production computer lab, and a new 4K digital cinema.
