Recently retired Extron vice president of engineering, Steve Somers, has been announced as the winner of the 2019 Mackey Barron distinguished achievement award for contributions, leadership and commitment to excellence.
The Mackey Barron distinguished achievement award
is considered the most prestigious honour awarded by
AVIXA for a lifetime in the pro
AV industry.
Somers built a career in the
AV industry spanning more than 30 years,
previously being named AVIXA’s volunteer of the year
in 2009 and serving the association in
a variety of roles including adjunct instructor and
member of the professional education and training committee.
