To help in the fight against COVID-19, immersive medical education provider FundamentalVR has announced a range of initiatives for UK and US medical providers on the frontline for healthcare professionals, providing an online tool to allow workers to gain an understanding of ventilating patients in 30 minutes.
The training program consists of short ‘how-to’ videos and
educational graphics and is currently being used at the Imperial College
London, UK, and can be accessed by international healthcare providers.
FundamentalVR is also expanding its Fundamental Surgery surgical education VR platform
to allow residents and students to continue training from home,
launching an @HomeVR feature that adds simulations to standalone VR headsets.
A new multiuser capability for Fundamental Surgery was also announced,
allowing a scalable number of users to enter a single virtual
or from multiple locations to undergo a step-by-step surgical procedure.
