The UK’s largest radio telescope became the canvas for a sound and light show at the Bluedot festival.
The festival saw images from space, including pictures
from Nasa’s James Webb Space Telescope beamed on to
its 76-metre dish, using the dish as a huge
film screen.
The show, titled Sky’s Eye view includes
the latest data from the sun and images of
the moon as well as time-lapse sequences of the
Earth from Nasa’s Blue Marble satellite data.
The soundtrack
features recordings from space, including the ‘sonification’ of the
radio telescape’s scan of the Milky Way.
