The French 3D premiere of the latest Harry Potter film has scooped a Guinness World Record for the largest 3D digital cinema projection. Six Christie Solaria projectors fired on to a 29.9m x 12.33m screen at the Palais Ominisports de Paris-Bercy.
Two clusters of three Solaria Series CP2230
DLP Cinema projectors were used for the screening
in front of an audience of 8,500.
Pascal Gervais, regional director at Christie, said: “We’re
really proud to have made this world record
possible through our Christie Solaria range of digital
cinema projectors.”
Gervais continued to express his
pleasure at being selected by big-format 3D specialist
2Avi, and by Warner Bros to be involved in the project.
