Huawei pumps £1.3bn into UK
Huawei, Chinese communications solutions provider, has earmarked £1.3 billion (€1.6 billion) for investment and procurement in the UK over the next five years.

In a meeting with UK Prime
Minister David Cameron, Ren Zhengfei, CEO and
founder of Huawei, confirmed the investment and
pledged that the company’s UK workforce would
reach 1,500 by 2017.

Ren pinpointed the
UK as one of the most important
European markets for Huawei and confirmed the
company planned to invest in research and
development, local procurement and centre of excellence initiatives.
