German AV consultants macom is to open a media and technology lab in Autumn 2016 in Eislingen/Fils near Stuttgart to offer architects the possibility of designing and testing AV technology for new build projects in a realistic and neutral environment.
The macom LAB provides different areas for the simulation of working and meeting spaces as
well as for more complex collaboration environments. Together with a designated team of macom consulting
and planning experts, companies or architects can plan the media technology requirements for their upcoming new
building projects and existing integration projects.
Hardware and software shootouts can be undertaken to provide
the most suitable technical solutions for the different project requirements. Additionally, technical standards for future construction
projects can be developed. Furthermore, the macom experts can certify hardware and software products for
these standards.
The realistic environment the Lab provides means manufacturers can test usability and the added
value of their products, which means user acceptance can be increased, and products comparisons can
provide the opportunity to recognise USPs and to place their product innovations effectively in the competitive environment.
