Meta, formerly Facebook, has launched its immersive learning program, offering up to 10 universities the chance to teach virtual reality classes via VR headsets. stuff
Meta worked with US-based VR specialist, VictoryXR, to create a
virtual campus with buildings and facilities for the University of Maryland
Global Campus. Virtual students can put on a headset and enter
the virtual university, with access to five metaverse courses, including blockchain,
biology and astronomy courses.
In the future, Meta aims to increase
the number of universities to 100.
The immersive learning program has
seen meta pump more than $150 million to develop the next
generation of metaverse creators and fund immersive experiences that are designed
to transform learning and increase access to learning through technology.
