Microsoft and Meta to integrate Workplace and Teams

Microsoft and Meta to integrate Workplace and Teams
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced a partnership with Microsoft to integrate work collaboration software. The integration will enable content sharing and engagement between both applications.

Users of Workplace from Meta will be able to engage
with content posted in Microsoft’s Teams application, while Teams users will
be able to watch videos posted in Workplace.

Ujjwal Singh,
Meta's head of Workplace, told CNBC that the integration was requested
by users at Vodafone and Accenture.

Workplace and Teams currently target
different markets, Meta's Workplace, introduced in October 2016 replicates the company's
consumer applications, while Microsoft's Teams is primarily a video conferencing
tool.

Workplace is already integrated into other Microsoft applications, and Microsoft
itself has its own competitor to the application called Yammer.
