Traditional touch screen technologies boast a response time of around 100ms, but Microsoft Research has now demonstrated a new technology which cuts that down by 99%, to just 1ms.
In this video from the Microsoft Research
YouTube channel, Paul Dietz, of the company’s applied
sciences division, demonstrates how big a difference, the new
method Microsoft developed, makes.
The only slight issue
we can see with this is that it
will only serve to demonstrate the delay that
exists in the control systems such a touch screen
might be connected to. 1ms response is great
until there’s a 50ms response time from the media controller!
