A Mipro TA-80 system was installed to provide intelligible, professional audio for the president of Mexico City as part of celebrations to commemorate the 209th anniversary of the Mexican Independence Day.
Clear, balanced audio is integral to the ceremony, with the Mexican President reenacting “The Cry of Dolores” from the balcony of the National Palace in Mexico City, ringing the same historic bell that Mexican revolutionary leader Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla rung in 1810.
Jorge Araiza, education and support manager, Sensey Electronics oversaw the design and optimisation of the installed system in Zocalo.
A Mipro TA-80 digital wireless transmitter was installed as a measuring tool as Araiza explained: “I used TA-80 to optimise all the system that includes main PA, out fill, eight front fills, and four delays systems.
“It was an easy job because of the lack of cable. MIPRO’s TA-80 allowed me to move the microphone in the place that I need it without using hundreds of cables. In large venues like this, the use of the cable is simply out of place.”
The Mipro TA-80 system was also used to obtain information on different points of the baseboard plate, obtaining sound pressure levels required to hear voices clearly.
Araiza added: “The voice of the president is the most important thing in this show. To be sure that it has the level and the clarity we need to cover up to 100,000 people, I use TA-80 placed 100 meters away from the sound system and it allows me to measure the levels and the frequency response.
“We got 91dB SPL C and the frequency response as well from 300 to 4,000Hz. We can focus on the clarity of the voice.”
