Musion 3D was deployed at Vodafone Romania’s 5G launch to deliver live, 4K telepresence holograms in a world-first for Musion.
Hosted on Mother’s Day in 2021, the event featured mums
beamed in using Musion technology.
Holographic images had to be transmitted
over long distances between two separate locations, necessitating conversion from
coax cable to fibre to maintain an uncompromised video signal. Musion
3D used AJA’s line-up of Hi5 and HA5 12G-SDI-enabled mini-converters, allowing
the team to share high-bandwidth signals over longer distances with a
single cable and avoid downtime.
This was the first holographic
installation that Musion 3D produced in 4K and filmed in an
outdoor environment. Footage captured at the event was later used for advertisements.
