NEC and SITA have announced a global partnership to develop a walk-through travel experience at airports, using NEC’s I:Delight identity management platform with SITA’s Smart Path kiosk and SITA Flex platform.
The announcement comes amid focuses on low-touch and
automated passenger processing in compliance with hygiene requirements and concerns
brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Passengers will be
able to use digital identities on mobile devices when travelling
at each step of the journey, using biometric identity
to check in, make payments, drop off bags and pass
through security, immigration and boarding by scanning their face
at each step.
Touchpoints will also automatically recognise users as
a passenger, using common use platforms and AI systems.
