Cinimod studios in London have created a unique immersive public light and sound installation for energy company Endesa for its Christmas celebrations in Lima, Peru. DJ Light allows one person to take over a massive space and manipulate an array of light and sound using nothing more than the gestures of their own body.
The installation consisted of 85 giant light globes, each capable of displaying millions of colours.
As the guest “DJ” takes their position
on the podium, they can use their
arms to point and gesture. These movements are
captured by thermal cameras and translated in real-time
into responses of light and sound from
the installation.Over 400 channels of lighting control and
audio make up the system, which is controlled
by Cinimod’s own custom software solution.
