Plastic Logic, a flexible display specialist, says it is showing the first all-organic, flexible AMOLED display at the Society for Information Display (SID) display week, held in San Diego, June 1 to 6, 2014. The developer is looking for partners to commercialise a technology that could have a huge impact in the wearable electronics market.
The company has built on its first demonstrator
- shown at the Flextech Conference in Phoenix,
AZ in February – with a brighter display, 256
grey levels and 30fps image rendering. Colour is
the company’s next target.
Plastic Logic combined its oTFT
backplane technology and Novaled’s OLED frontplane materials to
construct the flex AMOLED display.
The company is now
actively seeking companies to join its Partner Programme
to take flexible electronics and wearable technology into mainstream production.
