PPDS installed a 46.25m wide Philips dvLED wall inside the F1 MK-7 headquarters in Milton Keynes, reported to be Europe’s largest indoor dvLED videowall.
PPDS and Oracle Red Bull Racing worked with Vogel’s and Ruitech Solutions to create the system, engineering a custom-designed horseshoe-shaped Philips dvLED wall as the centrepiece of the MK-7 headquarters’ main auditorium, operating as a backdrop to a horseshoe of F1 cars on display.
The Philips Public LED 7000 series was selected due to its refresh rates, colour, and brightness quality, combining a pixel pitch of 2.4mm with a total screen resolution of 19240 x 1144 for optimal viewing experiences.
The displays feature built-in cabling to keep wires organised, with the display cabinets daisy chained for both power and data. Low power consumption was also a key requirement relating to Oracle Red Bull and PPDS’ sustainability commitments, with active health monitoring to make maintenance and part replacement predictable.
Vogel’s supplied a dedicated freestanding mounting system, which was followed by the installation of 484 41BDL7224L and 33 31BDL7224L LED panels. Content is managed via a Novastar H9 LED controller and a CMS system for management of content.
