US Democratic presidential hopeful Andrew Yang plans to use 3D holograms to hold campaign rallies in contested states simultaneously across multiple cities.
Yang, in a discussion with TMZ Live, demonstrated the
technology in a segment of a hologram performance with the hologram
of late rapper, Tupac Shakur, which appeared at the
Coachella festival in 2012.
Yang plans to use the hologram
to deliver recorded versions of speeches for crowds, broadcast from the
back of a truck.
Yang would set up in a
studio and beam into the rally remotely to address the
crowd and answer live questions, with the potential to save a
significant amount in travel costs while generating interest in key swing areas.
