Pro AV sales bounce back according to AVIXA report
Pro AV sales have grown for the first time since February according to AVIXA’s monthly AV sales index, sparking hopes for an industry bounce back as businesses around the world continue to re-open.

The index recorded an index mark of 53.7, an increase of 3.4 points from June when the monthly index mark of 50.3 indicated no net change.

While the increase in sales is marginal and incomparable to pre-pandemic data, the increase in sales mark an important watermark for the AV industry on its road to recovery.

The report follows a previous statement from AVIXA in July which indicated that the global pro AV industry lost $20 billion because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but faces a $56 billion growth from the 2019 peak by 2025.

APAC is predicted to fair better and to carry the strongest growth of each region, with a  7.4% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2020 to 2025. This stands in stark contrast to a predicted CAGR of 4.5% in EMEA and 4.7% in the Americas. The APAC pro AV revenue is also expected to outpace Europe, with APAC pro AV revenue expected to amount to $126 billion compared to an anticipated revenue of $81 billion in EMEA.

Conferencing and collaboration technologies are expected to retain their strength in the market with an estimated $38 billion expected to be generated globally in 2020.

On-site and remote collaboration technologies are also expected to grow as a direct result of the return to work as Covid-19 restrictions wind down, with the security/surveillance/life safety sector expected to see a 11.4% CAGR.
