A group of artists have transformed the façade of a Sao Paulo skyscraper into a giant video-game display. Passers-by are using iPads to take control of the LED powered 3,000m² display to play classic games including Tetris, Pac-Man and Space Invaders. The installation, titled "play!" proved so popular it was extended by a week to April 14 after its initial one-week run.
Reports claim that 100,000 LED lamps
were used in the installation of the
FIESP (Federation of the Industries of the
State of Sao Paulo) building.
The “digital
artists†responsible for the project said
they wanted to encourage people to take
a few moments out of their busy
lives at the same time as showcasing
video games from the 1970s and 80s.
