Samsung shows foldable smart devices with glimpse of future displays
Samsung is pushing foldable display tech boundaries with its showing at SID Display Week that, while focused on mobile technology, has wider implications for the displays sector.

Demonstrating what can be achieved with new flexible OLEDs, Samsung
showed off the S-foldable mobile device that can be folded twice
at the virtual exhibition running May 17 to 21. When open
it offers a 7.2-in screen tablet, when folded tiwce it can
be used as a smartphone.

Samsung also demonstrated a 17-in monitor
that can be folded in a 4:3 ratio and Slidable, a
smartphone that can be extended horizontally.

In addition to foldable display
technology, Samsung demonstrated a product that places a camera under a
display panel. When deployed within laptops, this could result in smaller bezels.
