Back in December 2011, InAVate reported on a new haptic technology developed by Senseg that had made its way into Time magazine’s top 50 innovations list. Now, hours before Apple is expected to announce the latest iteration of the iPad, rumours abound on both sides of the Atlantic that the Senseg haptic system is to be employed in the new device.
Whether the rumours are true or
not, the technology is pretty cool and
as we’ve previously noted it has great
potential for display manufacturers as they have
no need to re-engineer their existing display
technologies to accommodate the haptic element.
If
you’re interested in how the technology works,
there’s a detailed piece on the
Guardian website in addition to the above video from CNET.
