StarMount studio in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia has switched DAW platforms to Pyramix and Horus. The switch was made after a trial period with a Pyramix unit and a Horus unit on loan from Merging’s local partner, Stagetec Asia.
The drive for quality sound prompted StarMount to order a Horus
unit with converter cards and the Pyramix with a MassCore so that
DSD recordings can be done in the future. The switch also necessitated
a change from Mac to PC.
Alex Tan, StarMount’s owner, said regarding
the shift in operating systems: “I do not deny that it was a
leap of faith and tough shift from OSX to Windows. It’s all
worth the pain as not only my team and I have gained
from this new change but our clients are improving on each session
because they like what they hear and that drives them to be better!â€
