Sysco Productions creates generative content with a piano
Sysco Productions has debuted a public piano which uses musical input to generate real-time content on an LED screen.

Located at Hogarth Court, London, Sysco Productions installed a public piano that works
in coordination with the LED screen above visitors, displaying varying weather and season
conditions that change and evolve as the piano is played.

The setup, called Skyframe,
changes the intensity of weather, lightning and snow in real time, mirroring the
style and speed of a live piano player, no matter their skill. Blizzards of
varying intensity, thunderclaps timed with the music played live and intense sunsets cycle
through above the players, matching the pace of the music with LED content.

This
clever combination brings real-time generative media into the public sphere, claimed to be
the first time that a public piano has been used to generate on-screen content.
