The UK’s Government Property Agency (GPA) has invested in Lightware signal management systems, consolidating and modernising Uk government buildings.
The GPA is responsible for leading the transformation of the UK Civil Service office estate, with a focus on reducing office
footprint, improving sustainability and user experience.
The Agency found that standardisation of technology to be the most efficient route to take, with
the GPA team settling on Lightware’s Taurus systems as its preferred technology standard for hybrid-ready, multi-use meeting environments in its multi-tenant user base.
Designed with the GPA’s core principles of user experience, accessibility, and security in mind, a technology standard was built based around Lightware’s
Taurus TPX transmitter and receiver bundle, used with Sony Bravia displays, a Logitech Rally videoconferencing system and presence sensor.
Smaller, non-videoconferencing systems
include the Taurus Smart Dog for a BYOD experience, creating a standardised user experience. When entering any standard meeting room, a presence
sensor, which is integrated with Lightware switchers, powers on the screen to display a custom welcome screen with instructions for starting a meeting,
connecting to centralised Wifi or contacting IT support.
Users can connect laptops via USB-C to the Taurus unit for BYOD functionality and
full control of the meeting room peripherals, with the TPX bundles enabling high-resolution signal transmission over longer distancers of up to 100 metres.
