Vodafone and IBM collaboration to create cloud systems for business
Tech giants IBM and Vodafone are working together to offer businesses a method to link cloud computing systems.

The linking of cloud computer systems will offer businesses support
for future digital innovations including ‘deep learning’ AI advances and 5G
networks.

It is reported that approximately 70% of businesses use
up to 15 individual cloud services.

UK based telecoms provider Vodafone
is reportedly paying £426 million ($550 million USD) to IBM, securing
an eight year managed services agreement.

The collaboration could combine cloud
computing and connectivity, allowing rapid communication between robots while eliminating
the need for a ‘pipe’ leading back to a data centre.

It is expected to be operational in the first half of 2019.
