UK football club West Ham United is hoping to set records after submitting a planning application for an 83m by 12m display to wrap around its new stadium. The club, which will move into the London 2012 Olympic Stadium in August, claims the screen would be the largest digital screen in Europe.
The planning application was submitted
by the Olympic Park's management company,
E20 LLP.
West Ham says it would
use the display to play clips
of past and present footballers. The
screens would be designed to respond
to different brightness settings, meaning definition remains
at an optimum level for day
or night games in any weather condition.
