The ZigBee Alliance has begun the development of ZigBee Retail Services, a new standard focused on the retail experience.
The new standard will define
applications for mobile terminals and offer
plug-in modules to simplify adoption.
Zigbee
is expected to find applications in
a number of systems such
as in-store information, location services (tracking,
arrival alerts), Supply chain management and
regulatory compliance. ZigBee is also expected
to find its way into energy management systems.
