Founder of Proto Hologram, David Nussbaum, has been named on Time100’s Health 2025 list for developing ‘holograms’ for healthcare applications.
Proto Hologram developed a ‘holographic’ communications platform, beaming ‘holograms’ of real doctors
to clinics in rural areas to cut down on travel time while allowing
patients to achieve a realistic image of healthcare providers during virtual appointments.
The company
now also offers translation services into nearly 300 languages, allowing doctors to talk
to foreign-language-speaking patients without an interpreter.
Nussbaum foresees ‘hologram’s being used in facilities
such as nursing homes in the future, allowing older people to have realistic
interactions with remote loved ones.
Nussbaum commented: “Nothing is more important than connecting with
your doctor in person to create that emotional, physical connection, especially when you're
talking about something as important as cancer or Parkinson's or some life altering news.”
