AMX has announced a new 802.11g access point that is
Wi-Fi certified and supports multiple VLAN for real-time applications, such as
the AMX control network and voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN). The
NXA-WAP250G is designed to combine a small form factor with advanced
wireless encryption capabilities.
The new WAP enables two separate and secure VLANs
that can be set up and operated independently. For example, VLAN1
can be allocated for high-priority, real-time applications such as control, whilst
VLAN2 is used for applications that are not as time sensitive,
such as e-mail and internet.
