The AVIXA Women’s Council will host West Point Woman author, Sara Potecha, at its annual breakfast event on 18 June 2020 during the show.
Potecha began her career as a US Army officer, supervising more than 300 technicians while based in Europe, gaining
technical experience through the military which led to a corporate career in the IT department of a bank.
Potecha launched
a management consulting firm in 2014 and published a book, West Point Woman, which focuses on fundamental leadership principles
learned at the United States Military Academy and applied throughout Potecha’s career.
Brandy Alvarado, chair of the AVIXA Women’s Council
and business development manager at Mad Systems said: "I took away so many lessons from the book - the one
that resonated most was the importance of building camaraderie. Embracing our differences and respecting, empathising and empowering one another are
the guiding principles for continued growth among professional women. I'm thrilled that Sara Potecha will join us for our
annual Women's Council Breakfast to share the insight she's gained on her career journey."
Each attendee at the AVIXA Women’s
Council breakfast will receive a free AVIXA edition of West Point Woman, with the book’s foreword written by Brandy Alvarado.
